Welcome to my new blog! I’ve been meaning to get this going for some time now –  as a platform for some writing on music & film, updates on some of my projects and interviews with people whose work I admire. To kick things off I’m posting an interview I did a little while ago with legendary Hollywood session percussionist Emil Richards, who I had the great pleasure of talking with about his career and in particular his work in the 1970s on some iconic film scores by Jerry Goldsmith, Lalo Schifrin and others – music that’s had a big influence on me. In the near future I’ll be posting a couple of further interviews that I’ve done, with composer Jocelyn Pook (on her score for Stanley Kubrick’s Eyes Wide Shut) and Oscar-winning film editor Jim Clark – so please keep checking back from time to time!
